If your Groomsman does not seem to take a charge, check the following before returning your kit to repair:

Check outlet current by plugging in another appliance.

Make sure the plug is not connected to a light switch which turns off the power when lights are turned off.

Be sure the trimmer is properly connected to the recharging transformer, all connections are secure, and the switch on the trimmer is turned "OFF."

If your electricity is connected to a master power switch, we would suggest the trimmer be disconnected from the charger when the master switch is off, to prevent dis-charging of the battery.

If trimmer does not run and it is completely charged, turn "ON" and pinch or push the blades manually. (Oil may have dried out between blades, so they may be temporarily stuck together.)

DISPOSAL/REPLACEMENT OF NI-CD BATTERY

CONTAINS SEALED, RECHARGEABLE NICKEL-CADMIUM BATTERY. MUST BE RECYCLED OR DISPOSED OF PROPERLY.

The RBRC Battery Recycling Seal on the nickel-cadmium (NI-Cd) battery contained in this product indicates Wahl is voluntarily participating in an industry program to collect and recycle these batteries at the end of their useful life, when taken out of service in the United States or Canada. The RBRC program provides a convenient alternative to placing used NI-Cd batteries into the trash or the municipal waste stream, which is illegal in some areas. Please call 1-800-8-BATTERY for information on NI-Cd battery recycling in your area. Wahl's involvement in this program is part of our commitment to preserving our environment and conserving our natural resources.

Under normal use, your battery should never wear out. But if replacement is necessary, follow these steps:
Remove battery compartment cover from trimmer by pushing plastic door in and away from unit.

Remove battery from the unit and dispose of properly.

If replacing battery, replace with new NICKEL-CADMIUM battery only.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to insert the negative (-) end of battery first, so that it depresses the spring at the top of the battery compartment. Then slide the positive (+) end into position between the plastic ribs.

Replace battery compartment cover to its original position.
Connect battery charger to unit and fully charge battery before using (make sure switch is in the "OFF" position).
